Hi
We have 3 mail servers, 1 is working fine, the other 2 are slow and problematic. The only real difference I can see is that the working one is using all its pagefile and memory for the store and the dodgy ones aren't, so they are having to drag data from the SAN which is relatively slow...
Hiya
Since upgrading the exchange servers to SP3, we can no longer `reply from` attached mailbox's - we have to reply using our own IDs, which isn't much good.
For example, we add a new mailbox called Network Admin to our normal account, and all queries go there, we used to be able to reply...
I work for a University.
Right, the students living in the local residencies here have network points in their rooms, we register their cards with our database that then gets exported to the win2k DHCP servers. ok
Some of the little bastards are nicking other peoples IP addresses by typing it...
I'm beginning to think, what with this new virus outbreak today (which seems to be a weekly affair nowadays), that Exchange/Outlook is a total waist of time, it's a constant battle upgrading virus packages and downloading fixes for exploits in 2k. Coz of the amount of users (a university)We are...

So what's the best product for Exchange 2000? At the moment we are using Sophos, but they dont have a decent exchange agent and our mail queue is filling up with virus emails and slowing down all the proper msgs.
Our mail server is a 4x500Mhz P3 Xeon with 2GB Ram, it has a 4GB page file.. It holds about 15,000 exchange mailboxes with about a maximum of 500 people using it at any one time.
According to MS specs, this machine is well over spec for handling the load, yet during peak hours it's so god damn...

Hi
What would I need and how would I link a Folder in someones home area on W2k Server to a Unix volume with out the end user knowing any different.
So they could easily edit their personal web pages on the unix side just like they were working on there local disk.
Cheers
Hi
Got my local XP workstation inside my works domain, logging in with a local user.
All my local driver are being shared as Admin Shares (c$ etc) so that any Domain Admin (which I am) can access my drives. Which I dont want.
I can turn off the Server Service to stop this, but then I cant...
Hi...
We are converting a novell network of over 15,000 users over to win2k shortly, there are a few issues that I've been asked to investigate.
We need guest accounts so anyone can access office apps without an authenticated username, but we dont want these people to have internet access...
