    Conferences/Seminars

What conferences/seminars do you attend? Seems like there just isn't enough out there for people at the Networking level besides Cisco's Networkers. What are you planning to attending this year? Myself -> Cisco Networkers 2007, Anaheim, CA July 22nd-26th QOS Class with some training firm

Send email with html or xhtml

I have a script that generates a text email and sends it to users daily. I would rather have this email sent as html or xhtml so that tables and graphs could be displayed in the email instead of text. When I generate the email in html language, the actual language gets sent to the user instead...

High Input Queue Drops and Flushes

I see this on some of my router interfaces: Input queue: 0/75/2172234/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0 I saw I could increase the input hold-queue size above 75, but is this the right thing to do in this situation? Wouldn't QOS be the better solution?

    BGP Peers keep dropping

We have a connection with 2 BGP peers over a DWDM and every 7-10 hours, the BGP peers will reset. We noticed our MTUs did not match at both ends, so we changed it, but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas where I should look next?

IT Salaried Staff - Your on call this week, are you compensated?

Big debate going on at work right now whether the IT Salary employees that have to take call should be compensated extra. I've seen this debate at every company and the answer is usually no. But I think it depends on what defines "on call"? Available by cell phone for phone support, response...

    How are you utilizing Ciscoworks?

How are you using Ciscoworks are what cool things are you doing with it that others might not have thought of? Obviously, many people use it as an inventory network system and even to backup and audit changes, but what else are you using it for?

Download Chapters of Cisco Exam Guides as a PodCast!!

I'm sure as a fellow IT professionals, you have very little time in your life to study and keep up with all the new information we need to know to stay up on technology and certification in this business. I find that I have a lot of commuting time back and forth to work, or if I take a trip on...

C:\ drive running out of room, temporary boot from 2nd RAID group?

I have a Compaq DL380 server with Windows 2000. Drives 0 - 2 is a RAID 5 24GB drive, but I think this server was upgraded from Windows NT so the C:\ Drive is only like 4 GB and was installed as a basic disk so I cannot upgrade to dynamic disk. The c:\ is running out of room, so here is my...

    QOS for internet traffic???

I'd like to get some experience implementing QOS, but all the examples I've seen have to do with VOIP, which we don't have yet. I have a T1 between my main site and a remote site. Can I assign QOS to give higher priority based on an application, like I.E., or can I assign it based on a...

    SUS to WSUS migration

I've migrated a test OU to WSUS for SUS. On my reports page, It shows computers that need updates, but it never applies the updates. I've checked the GPO and it is supposed to install new updates nightly at 3am. The updates are approved for install, not just detect. What am I missing?
