That might be a possibility. I don't mind the data loss since the client knows, he's supposed to close the program when he leaves... I'll try that. Thanks a mil!

Thank you for the suggestion, but my client won't have me install anything on his pc (drive G) so I'm looking for a workaround using the access I have to the main pc (server)

Hmmm. The problem is that I can only see the desktop for the pc I'm connected to (drive) not his pc (drive G)... I don't know how to access his.

Ah. But that's the rub. I can see the remote desktop for the pc I'm accessing (server) and QB is closed on this pc. He also has another pc connected (drive G) and QB is open there. I can see drive G through Windows Explorer but don't know how to close down the program on his pc...
I work on a client's pc remotely. His system is networked and uses Windows XP. I usually transfer the file to my location (faster to work on) do the work then transfer it back, when I'm done. My problem is, he forgets to close the program (QB) on his desktop, (another drive) before he leaves...
