System locks up when dialing out
The previous modem was an AOpen FM56-PM, and it did the exact same thing as the new modem. Also, the OS is Windows 98 (gulp).- jlb31

Tried that already (moving to different PCI slot). Also tried updating the drivers. That didn't work either. Thanks, though. Let me know if you have any other ideas.- jlb31

I rebuilt a system using these components: EPoX EP-8KMM3I AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton" 256 MB Crucial PC2700 40GB Maxtor HD 400W Allied Power Supply "Elements" Fax/Modem (I believe the maker is PC Elements) The system runs fine EXCEPT when trying to dial out. when the modem initializes, the...- jlb31
