Thanks for all your help. I have solved the problem. Within Small Business Server there is an Internet Connection Wizard that allows you to configure SMTP and POP3 mail. It's not very clear and tucked away but it worked.
Its frustrating because you can also configure email/internet connections...
The SBS Server uses exchange.

From reading an article I have used the DNS Management Console and just added the ip addresses of my ISP servers
to the list of forwarders but still no luck.
