    thanks IllogicallyLogical, I am an idiot, i checked the dhcp server and there is no entry of 192.168.12.20 anywhere, I checked the LAN setting and did a ipconfig on the DHCP server, but I never checked the actual DHCP settings in the administrative tools. thanks it is fixed
