    All sorted now, DNS was one problem. The main problem was that the box I was adding still thought it was on a domain, I couldn't get rid of everything completely so I did a quick reinstall of w2k. Thanks for the help, Paul.

    I am trying to join an existing domain, but i get the error "domain does not exist or could not be contacted". Evrything seems to point to the fact that srv records are missing from the dc I want to promote. Any ideas? THanks, Paul.
