Running AIX 6.1 CPU intensive
I have 24 lcpu /12 VIRTUAL processor and the vmstat value is at peak when the system was using 9 physical procs. However if the load comes down then my runnable thread shows less value around 15 which is less than the total number of lcpu. By the way I am runing it on P6 MACHINE!! Thanks for... -

Running AIX 6.1 CPU intensive
we are running oracle 10g on AIX 6.1 and the database size is around 9TB. the system is cpu intensive and always runs at 100% utilization. However we used to run the same database in HP world and it was not consuming such high CPU. please advise!! -

I am trying to unpack the file with tar.z extension. uncompress will work for .Z files gzip will work for .gz files while executing the unpack command i am getting the following error... unpack: netvault-R2005DEC09-EXCALIBUR-aix.tar.z: This file is not in packed format. any idea to fix this... -

Command line implementation of JFS2 and 64 Bit Kernel
hi, you can keep both file types. AIX 5L will support jfs as well as jfs2. but you can't modify the jfs file type to jfs2 file type. in order to do that, you need to create new jfs2 file type and then migrate the data from jfs to jfs2. let me know if you have any questions. thanks -
