    Thanks Terry. I have tried not using XP. First I tried the MS VirtualPC to set a Windows 98 Virtual Machine...It won't logon to the server...next I tried scrubbing XP and installing 98 on the new machine...It won't boot (NDIS errors and Protection Errors). I am getting to the end of my options...

    I have several new XP Pro workstations which do connect great to Novell 3.12 using MS Netware Client (yipee)..BUT although I have used the netware FLAG command to make DOS files on the server shareable, XP Pro locks the file when it loads it, and prevents others from reading!!! It all worked...
