Realtek RTL 8187 Wireless with Vista

By Jove, I think he's got it! Did the above, yep, that was the problem. The services came under the names of rtlprot and rtlwusb. After getting rid of those and a restart, installing the drivers, it works perfectly. No drop outs yet, and PSK TKIP works a charm too. The only problem is...

OK, I've searched some more, and simply I just believe either its a faulty device or problems with the drivers. After contacting ASUS they assure me that its most probably drivers since there are only a few stable drivers for vista. Now I have come to the conclusion that the device simply...

    Safe to turn off computer

Also another thing that has been bugging me. I have Windows XP Home, on my laptop and on the start menu > all programs, it expands accross the screen. Whereas on my desktop, Windows XP Pro, it does not expand and stays a list which has to be scrolled, up or down. Is there a way to change this...

Uninstalling Dual Boot Windows 98 and XP Pro

AHH thanks, and I went ahead with it. However after I formated C: I rebooted my PC and it said ntldr not detected. Im not sure why even though XP was suppose to boot from the new partition which i moved ntldr and boot.ini into before I formatted. So I restarted and booted onto XP CD and went to...

Uninstalling Dual Boot Windows 98 and XP Pro

Thanks, so would I have to restore XP with the CD? and just to make sure if I do format C: and no option comes up to load either OS. Would entering the Windows CD and restarting the pc execute the CD? Being that the BIOS settings looks to the CD Drive.

Uninstalling Dual Boot Windows 98 and XP Pro

If I hadn't made things clear, sorry. I want to keep Windows XP and Uninstall Windows 98 ie getting rid of dual boot and Windows 98. p.s. Due to two different HDD and partitions. If I do format my C: drive only, would it be obligatory to back up Drive D: too?
