    ...SP 2003. I don't know about 2007. We had to implement a process of downloading the files onto a shared drive for the consolidation and updates. Same with our Resource Pool file.     ...PDFs works for final printing, it can be a real pain during the editing process where we might be in and out of a file five or six times in an hour.     access compact locks db on multiuser pc

    ...but not get them locked up like this? I ask because there is no way our IT group is going to do any permission level stuff... so either I figure it out on my end or just undo 'compact on close' and redeploy...
