We're thinking about upgrading primarily because CR 9 users need to publish reports.
Can anyone give me a labor estimate on migrating?
We have CE8.5 on a single server platform (concurrent user).
About 60 reports.
Local intranet use.
Using SMTPmail and WIN NT logon.

May I jump in?
I am also trying to modify the eportfolio, using the book suggested, and I have two hurdles:
1) I can't get the Preferences scaled back. If I remove the preference sections in settings_include.csp, they go away, but they go away for the Administrator as well. So I can't go...
Hi,
We have CE 8.5, Bea Weblogic & Epicentric Portal.
Have any of you integrated CE with Epicentric or Bea?
We would like to have CE (e-portfolio or equivalent), run seamlessly in the corporate portal, but is there alot of coding involved?
How have you incorporated CE into your portal...
Hi all,
I'm looking at re-writing some PowerBuilder reports in CE.
These are batch reports that run in the evenings.
CE needs to be smart enough to check for the completion of reports and if there is failure, to be capable of pausing while the failed report is re-run.
I need to be able to...
When my SA used import wizard to bring SI 7.0 to CE 8.5, the reports associated with queries did not come across.
Has anyone been able to get their queries into CE?
Thanks,
Doug
Hi,
I'm trying to publish a CR8.5 to CE8.5.
When I choose File --> Save As, I get the logon prompt. I have tried both Administrator, as well as my Windows NT logon (which I gave Admin rights). When I xmit the logon screen, nothing happens. No folders show up in the dialogue. I am assuming...
I have a date or datetime field in the DB and I want to display spaces in the column if the date doesnt match a certain criteria. So I need to create a formula that will replace the data field which will convert the date to string, and either display the datestring or a blank.
Any solutions?
Doug
I'm in CR8.5 and do a Save As.
When the Save As window opens, I select the Enterprise Folder Icon at the lower left of the screen. A logon window appears. I give it the Admin logon and the APS server name (the authentication type is Enterprise). When I click ok NOTHING HAPPENS.
Try looking at this document on the Crystal Knowledge Base. There's also a hot fix associated with this type of error.

I try to select a text file using the Data File option and I get this message: IDAPI Error: Cannot locate ODAPIxx.DLL.
Any ideas about where this DLL comes from and how to get it?
All the information I need for a report is contained in a CSV file. Can I read this file and pull key fields out of it to create a report that produces one statement or letter per record read off the text file?
Thanks Naith,
My next hurdle is how to ge tthe SQL statement into the record selection. I tried this with the Select Expert, but I dont see a maximum in the drop down. DO I have to go into the Show SQL Query to modify it manually?
I'm trying to get the record that has the latest date. Right now I'm getting two records. How do I get the more current record only, based on the date field?
