My 5250 session has no page up/down capability

I've successfully installed x3270 on Solaris. In addition I've successfully established a 5250 connection to the AS400. But I've an issue. I can't page through multiple OS400 screens. The x3270 keypad has no paging option nor can I page using the PageUp and PageDown keys on my keyboard. What...

    x3270 package/downloadable for Solaris 8

It appears I'm at a dead end. I require the 'SPROcc' (unbundled SPARCworks Professional C compiler) and what I have is the GCC compiler. It appears I can't get there from here. If this isn't the fact please let me know.

    x3270 package/downloadable for Solaris 8

Let me try and understand all this. I'm attempting to install x3270 which in turn has a dependency on x-windows. I already had X11R6 on my system which ostensibly came with the Solaris-8 install media (because I did nothing explicit). After unzipping and untarring x3270 to printed a copy the...

    x3270 package/downloadable for Solaris 8

I found a command that tells me that I have X11R6. The only thing I can guess at this point is that perhaps 'xmkmf' and 'imake' are not configured. I have the Xaw & Xmu libraries, but I'm not sure whether I have 'header' files installed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated.

    x3270 package/downloadable for Solaris 8

    x3270 package/downloadable for Solaris 8

I'm back from vacation and have downloaded x3270 from the FTP site referenced by 'bfitzmai' (Thank you bfitzmai). I've unzipped and untarred the package and am looking at the 'Build' document. Build references 'X11R5', 'X11R6', 'X11R4' etc. Not at all sure what...

PATH & MANPATH environment variables anomaly

The paths were neither already defined in '/etc/profile' nor did Samba automatically add them, at least not to '/etc/profile'. Perhaps there is some other file that possibly could have been updated with the paths?

PATH & MANPATH environment variables anomaly

I've added the following paths to /etc/profile for executables and man pages respectively: PATH=${PATH}:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/samba/bin MANPATH=${MANPATH}:/usr/local/man:/usr/local/samba/man I logged out and then re-logged on and performed an echo command for each environment variable and...

Failing to implement samba on solaris 8

It turns out to be not much of a mystery. The problem with the missing popt library was simply the result of not executing a pkgadd for the popt package. Thanks for all the help gentlemen.

Failing to implement samba on solaris 8

Ray; I executed a 'find' for 'libpopt.so.0' and it was not on my system. Unless 'libpopt.so.0' is an alias for something else I'm not sure that reinstalling Samba will do the trick as it isn't there but of course will try it. By the way thanks for taking an interest. George...

Failing to implement samba on solaris 8

Should I start fresh. Get Samba from samba.org, compile it and call it a day or should I continue on the path I'm on? I've put alot of effort and time into this only to be thwarted again due to a lack of yet another library (libpopt.so.1) but I'm stubborn and would like to get the package method...

Failing to implement samba on solaris 8

    Okay I finally got 111297-01 installed. This is what I had to do: 1) Install the 'Solaris 8' recommended patch cluster. 2) Install 108995-06 (a 111295-01 dependency). 3) Install 111295-01 (a 111297-01 dependency). 4) Install 109025-03 (a 111297-01 dependency). 5) Install 111297-01 (whew!!!!)...
