Well we are in the Eastern Time zone GMT -5, sometimes it jumps 5 hours ahead also, the post above was from a different test. Sco 5.0.7 on a Dell 1600SC 2.4 XEON. Any ideas.

    asktime

Has anyone experienced a 4 hour jump everytime you run asktime, even if you do not input a value for the new time? Example: # asktime Current System Time is Thu Dec 16 12:29:55 EST 2004 Enter new time ([[CC]YYMMDD]hhmm[.ss]): # asktime Current System Time is Thu Dec 16 16:29:58 EST 2004 Enter...

    Paging question

Well for starters, two questions. What is the range you want the pagers to work for the employees? Small office, floor, building, regional, global? Second, do you require two way communication? Alpha? or just a buzzer a la "Your table is ready

    CPU Thermal Paste necessary?

Personally, I would install it exactly as the instrcutions state and not modify it in any way. The retail AMD processors usually come with a pretty hefty warranty, at least in the US anyway.

    No Ring on Modem

Thanks for the quick replies. I am certain that the jack is correct because you can pick up the line using ATA. The modem just does not know that the line is ringing to pick it up by itself. Also, one of the secretaries remembered the telco tech saying that the wiring didn't look right to...

Networking notebook w/ SCO 5.0.06. Possible?

We have several notebooks dual booting with Windows and SCO 5.0.5 - 5.0.7 here. We use a 3Com PCMCIA card as most integrated NIC's don't play well with SCO. Some of the older 3com nic's work better than the newer ones. You can probably find onw on Ebay for around $10

    Using Postscript

You can try: cat FILE | /usr/spool/lp/bin/text2post | lp -dPRINTER replace FILE and PRINTER with your file and your printer and you should be good to go. You can setup a pipe to do this for you instead of having your job go directly to the print spooler.

    It's a Fan, Man.

Hello All, This forum has been very good to me in the past, usually on the Unix side. I give you a Windows 2000 question... I have a Compaq Armada 7400 Laptop running Win2kPro-SP3. When I start it up the fan clicks on for 1.5 seconds, this is normal operation. When the Win2k Splash screen...
