Hello
I would appreciate some help please.

The root disks were encapsulated with two extra volumes on non root disks.
There are two data volumes within the cdrdg disk group.
I have unencapsulated the root disk and re-booted with the view to:

Hello DBAs
Not being a DBA myself, but a Unix SA I am a little lost
on this after searching the web and finding nothing.
We have a server here that uses Apache and Oracle 9i (I think). The problem is that on random occurances after re-booting the server the Oracle XDB process takes port 8080...
I have performed some investigation and am quite giddy with excitement after discovering my new found Linux command.
[root@ualb01 /var/log]# rpm -qa | grep telnet
telnet-0.17-20
telnet-server-0.17-20
However, RedHat Linux experts. Would I patch just the above package or packages (I am not sure...
Thanks for the reply.
Nothing has been updated on this server for a good year, if ever. You mention updating the telnet daemon. How would I perform this?
I am used to Solaris patch bundles where Unix OS and included applications are all bundled together within a large jumbo patch. Is the same...

The DL380 has disks 0 to 5 installed, each being 72.8 GB
There is also a Storeage Works connected (I think) with bays 1 to 3 used, each containing 148.8 GB disks.
I would like to find out what...
Hello all.
I would like to list all tapes in a particular pool and thus pull out the the tapes I want in a particular fool using awk or something. However I can only find the one command - available_media
This does list tapes in particular pools but the pool name is not on the same line as the...
This may sound rather basic but it has been bugging me for some time. Why are network interface cards or devices within Solaris called different names. For example hme0, qfe0 and ce0. Why are they all not just called hme0 for example. I sure that there is an easy answer but it mystifies me.
Thanks for that. I have tried as you suggest but after logging in as user anonymous I still can not see any files.
I used anonymous as the login name and my email address as the password. No error was given just an empty space where the files should be. However on using the DoS command line the...
I have setup an ftp server using a HP-UX machine.
