I wrote the formulae wrong thats why i could not get the correct result,
wow!!! that was a very intelligent solution!!hats off to you LB..
but now the problem i have is if the report is sorted by qty shipped, the order is
qty shipped
amount
but if the report is sorted by sales amount the values...
This doesnot sort based on the GRAND total of the qty shipped or sales amount,
it sorts based on the total (which is grouped by the month- 2/2005, 3/2005)..
so for one item i see multiple records,
Is there a possibility of the user choosing the sort option, grand total of qty shipped or sales amount?
Ex: if the user chooses parameter sales amount the report is sorted on sales amount.

Add this as a third row field in your crosstab. Then go to the customize style tab and select your first row field and check "Suppress subtotals".

is there is a possibility to export this table into another database and refresh the table periodically.. so that i can create indexes on this exported table and use it as i want?
how did u link the tables,
i have a feeling if you linked table1.invoice# to table2.invoice# ,
it should print what you need.
check to see if record selection formula or suppressing sections on any condition are leading to this out put ..
also look at the linking of the tables one more time
try this:
when the report >1 page,
go to the preview page of the crystal report then drag the lines only till where you want it.. with trial and error it should be ok..if you set these line positions once, you will not have any problem later..
currently i have crystal reports v 8 . I use this every day. Now as v11 has come out i want to browse the new version..can i install v11 on the same m/c as v8? will it corrupt my v8 installation?
actually no one has permission to create index on this table, as this database is a backend for a software program and tampering with the indexes might lead to major issues.. hence, i want to know if i can export this table into another database and create an index on the field..
