hmmm, there should still be an event for when focus is lost. I am assuming that the user would tab through the text box and elect to (or not to) enter data. if the user does not tab through the text box, then you would need another approach What else is on your form??? T- Tango23

Thank you!!! That was of help. The query now runs nicely as long as the user selects something from that particular field (cboService).
