Hi,
Access Newbie here, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way where I can validate data entered in a table. Like for example, I'm asking my users to enter in their MAC address which is in hexidecimal. How can I get Access to check and make sure the user entered in a valid Heximdecimal...
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a program or a way to "capture" a system state like Registry and file/folder directory structures and save it to a file like maybe a txt or something. Then later be able to compare it to another file.
For example, I found this program and...
Hmmm... At the time I wrote this post I had found an unusual file on a friends box called navpaw.exe. I couldn't get to it in windows normal mode but was able to play with it in safe mode. I unpacked it in a hex editor for fun and found DB everywhere which kind of got me curious. So I saved...
I've got a dumb question. What is db? I do not know assembly but know enough to know what I'm looking at is machine language:-)
I have an asm file I created from a program and it has db listed on every line next to some hex. So naturally, I'm curious what db is.
Thanks,

Hi Guys,
I have a user who had a hard drive die. They lost everything on the drive except for what they backed up to CD-R right before it died. They are able to restore all of their data except one disc. One can view the files on the disc but can not copy them over to the hard drive. When...
I figured it out!!! I ran the netdiag on one of the client workstations that was experiencing this problem and it reported:
Testing Kerberos authentication... Failed
DC list test . . . . . . . . . . . : Failed
[WARNING] Cannot call DsBind to servname.coll.univ.edu (XXX.XXX.XX.XXX)...
Tomomark,
I already checked all that. It was one of the first things I checked. It appears everything is as it should be.
I appreciate your post. Let me know if there's anything else I should check.
I am now examining the client end some more. I'll let you now what I find.
Thanks,
jade...
Hello again,
We un-installed all updates that were installed in the month of May clear up to now and the problem still exists. We are finding that this problem not only happens to Win2k boxes but to XP boxes as well. I found stopping and restarting IPSec on our departmental server fixed the...
...this he is in the process of uninstall those updates and mumbling to himself about Automated updates. (I told him it was his fault its not working *cause* of those automated updates.) As it was uninstalling he clicked cancel right in the middle and he messed up the uninstall process-- so...
...it does them automatically. Another change on our network as a whole which has occurred is the introduction of an XServe. That thing was a B*^%$ to make communicate with the AD. But no changes where made to the PDC server to make the XServe communicate with it.
Third observation is the...
Thanks Everyone for your responses!
I am in Kansas. And I think I am from the only part of Kansas where no one uses the internet (hard to imagine that such places exist anymore). I and a load of friends are trying to build a home network. I've got a router, several switches, and a cluster of...
Greetings,
Where I live at, CAT5 costs an arm and a leg. Its because they are the only place that sells it.
A bunch of us budgeted for a cable crimper and now we are shopping for RJ-45 STP cable that comes in a roll not pre-punched. Does anyone happen to know where is the best place to get...
...never want to say "Your zip disk works the same way a floppy does" cause then he will cram that thing into the floppy drive and you'll **NEVER** be able to get it out (and of course he'll ask if we can save his data off the jammed zip disk). Its difficult to imagine how it would...
Greetings,
I was wondering if anybody knew of a solution where one could make a website automatically update itself.
I currently have a website that needs constant updating. However, before I can update it, I have to consult different departments about its content. After much consultating...
bullhlms,
I didn't start a new thread. I added on to someone elses.
All of this is very interesting. I am going to try this out this weekend on my XP partition. I think load order might have something to do with it. Maybe PS/2 has higher priority. Who knows. But I'm going to play...
I've had this problem since November. I tried many things between November and March. March I gave up and posted to see if anyone else knew the answer. For now it seems to be moving my input devices to ps/2 that fixes it.

I have seen this problem. In fact I have seen it recently. A friend brought his computer (one I built) in for me too look at. He had two drives in it. When trying to reinstall Windows he would get the same blue screen. The master ended out having a "technical failure" when trying...
It sounds like from your description it is a jumper issue. Your computer may be looking for the OS on the Primary Master drive. If both are set to Primary Master it can get confused. You can find out if this is the case by taking off the slave HD.

...and mouse --all microsoft brand) did NOT work. ONLY what I described above did.
If anyone yet knows why this is please do share, for I am **VERY** curious. I have been since the day MS released this version of Windows for it was the very first day I began struggling with this problem...
