What I would like to know, is it possible in the case of a disk crash to restore an individual application (in this case TIME AND ATTENDANCE)to a different server using Netbackup Datacentre 5.1 without having to restore the whole drive. If yes, how do I go about doing it.
Oh, we are not making...
...long time and secondly if it fails it start from scratch again. Two questions:
- Splitting the drive using the following option
W:\Drive3\[a-dA-D]*\* according to technote 275578 does not work. It fails with error 71.
- My second problem is my backups won't start from the the last...
i am currently having a problem backing up my Exchange_Mailbox. It keeps on failing with an error 41 network connection broken. It also processes at a very slow rate - about 300Kb per second. The Exchange_Infostore backup goes through fine and at a reasonable speed (+-2MB per second.)
Any...
Netbackup setup is as follows:
Master server = Windows 2003
Netbackup 5.1 MP4.
I am backing up a server specifying ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES. The problem is that all the drives backup successful accept for one particular drive (:\o) which shows successful but only 1KB of data backed up although there...
I am using 40/70 (compression) DLT tapes but noticed that the tapes are not even using native capacity. I imagine that compression is done through the hardware, how is it possible to check that the compression feature is activated through the hardware?.
Not sure if you still have the problem. The problem is linked to the fact that your drives are not properly configured. Make a note of the serial numbers of your drives on the robot panel. Go to devices, delete all your drives. Reconfigure (add) each drive from scratch linking them to the...
Hi Bob
I really appreciate your thorough response to my question, but I should have told you from the onset that I am running a W2K server using Veritas 4.5.
I see your reply relates to Unix.
Secondly I feel so guilty wasting your time because from the responses posted I can see you are a very...
Thanks Bob, but the problem I am having is that I need to change a complete set of my Monthly tapes (which is about 60 tapes)to infinity. Like I said, I used the bpexpdate command to change a few tapes to infinity, but the images still says ('expire in 6 months). The question is, why if the...
I have my current set of Monthend Backups with a retention period of 6 months. I need to set the retention period to infinity.
Although I have changed the tapes to infinity, the images still show expiration as 6 months.
Would appreciate it if somebody can give me the correct...
Maybe I must rephrase my question. I have got a job that is looping/hanging and I am unable to cancel it via the GUI. Is there any other way of doing it without having to cancel existing jobs ?
How do I cancel a backup (if right click/cancel does not work) without having to stop services, reboot the Master server or having to impact other jobs busy running? I've noticed since upgrading to MP6 this function (where you go to directory JOBS and deleting the ID linked to the job you want...
We've got a mix of DLT7000 and DLT8000 drives. I'm not sure
if they are backward compatable because everytime I do a restore on the DLT7000 it bombs with a error 5. To get around it I download the DLT7000 drives - a pain though.
I have just loaded the NETBACKUP ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE software. I can open every option on the GUI panel accept for the JOBS tab on the ACTIVE MONITOR option.
It displays an error 'not connected, see if the services are up'. Although all services are up and running.
Anyone perhaps familiar...
What command do I use to see which tapevolumes were used against a certain server which is part of a policy. The 'mediawritten' report tells you what tapevolumes were used for the complete (all servers included)backup, which is of no help.
I am having a problem backing up a NT server now for the last month with no luck. It keeps on failing with a 'network timeout connection error 41. The NIC/Port settings are fine(100/Full Duplex). Whats funny is that my C drive on the same server is processing very fast (+- 4MB/per sec), but the...
