Does anyone know if it's possible to shutdown one of the power supplies in a Catalyst 6509 running CatOS 6.4 from the CLI? I
looked at the "set module power down" command but it doesn't look like that will work.
...output from during the test. Is there a kernel setting that can be set to allow the system to perform as it reportedly did in during Solaris 9?

I'm not sure. The command that I use is below. My understanding is that it copies all of the save sets to another tape and spreads it across multiple volumes if needed.
nsrclone -v -b <clone pool> <volume name>
That's OK. I have actually cloned a couple of entire tapes instead of individual ssids and was able to successfully restore from them. Thanks for the info!
Is there a benefit to cloning a tape by individual ssid vs. cloning the entire tape? I am asking because we have now run backups to a VTL and dump data to tape via a script that clones the VTL tapes by ssid. Once the data has been dumped to tape we clear the VTL tapes for the next backup by...
EMC had me add the below entry with the WWN of the new Sepaton unit to /usr/kernel/drv/lus.conf and do a reconfiguration reboot. The unit was then visible in inquire output and I was able to add it via jbconfig.
name="lus" parent="fp" target=50 lun=0 fc-port-wwn="100000068d041100";
Thanks for all of the input. I really appreciate it. I just downloaded 7.2.2 and plan to upgrade all of our sites. Has anyone had any experience with 7.3? I read that it has a new GUI and a lot of new things to learn.
Thanks for the info. I considered doing a tar of /nsr but wanted to see what others recommended. I think I will upgrade the original server to 7.2.1 and tar /nsr. Did you have to run nsrck -L7 on your new server after you untarred /nsr?
We are upgrading our Solaris Networker server with a newer machine. The original server is running 7.1.1. I have installed 7.2.1 on the new machine. I know that I will need to contact EMC to get new authorization codes but what is the easiest way to move the indexes, groups and other...
I have been asked to move the IBM C Compiler from AIX 5.1 to 5.3 on our multi-boot 7044-270 system. Can this be done without the C Compiler media? I can't find it with our AIX 5.1 CDs.
Thanks for the info. I added the WWN of the Clariion SPB to the qla.conf file on the V440, restarted Navisphere and was able to see the HBA WWNN within Navisphere. I am all set.
I am attempting to add an additional host to our FC4700. The host is a SunFireV440 running Solaris 9 with a single QLogic 2340 HBA. The V440 is directly connected by fiber to one of the two EMC DS-16B switches inside of the FC4700. I have downloaded and installed the latest QLogic drivers and...
There was an additional filesystem mounted that was part of the sanvg volume group. I am awaiting the OK from the owner of the box to umount that filesystem. Thanks for the help!
I am attempting to export a volume group called sanvg consisting of a single SAN disk from a 5.1 environment into a 5.3 environment. Both OSs live on a seperate disks in a 7044-270. I umounted the volume group filesystem, ran the exportvg sanvg command and received the below error.
# exportvg...
Yes. Hdisk4 and hdisk5 are different paths to the same LUN. Thanks for all the additional info. I don't have anything on the fileystem right now and will try recreating it once I bring the SAN unit back online. It is down for maintenance.
