Resizing PDF - how can I get rid of orphan lines?

Thanks! I don't have the original document so I tried what you suggested, saving in Microsoft Word, fixing and then exporting back to Adobe PDF. Some very minor formatting was changed in the process, but overall this was very helpful. Thanks!!

Resizing PDF - how can I get rid of orphan lines?

I have a PDF document of 4 pages. Page 1 is full, but page 2 has only one line at the top. Page 3 is full, but page 4 has only two lines at the top. How can I force this to only two pages, where the odd-numbered pages will "take in" the orphan lines on the even-numbered pages?

Minor annoyances in PC SAS 9.2

I've noticed two things that annoy me in the way PC SAS 9.2 behaves. 1) When I double-click on a SAS program icon, SAS opens up, but instead of displaying the selected program in a single Enhanced Editor window (the way I'm used to), it opens two windows. One window, in the default location...

    Programming quality control

I have been asked to help develop guidelines for verifying the output of programming projects. (As an exercise, I was also asked to check another programmer's work on a specific project, and complete the same project and compare results.) Since our office primarily works in SAS, I thought I...

    Enhanced Editor on UNIX?

Thanks, Sastronaut! I looked at the documentation you posted, and I only see mention of the Program Editor, SAS's "old" editor. I couldn't find any mention of the Enhanced Editor. You may have missed this distinction. I'm going to go with ChrisW75's reply and assume that UNIX SAS has no...

    Enhanced Editor on UNIX?

This should be an easy question. Does UNIX SAS have an Enhanced Editor window? I just moved from a job using SAS on Windows to one that runs SAS on UNIX. By default, I don't get an Enhanced Editor window, and I can't find any options that seem to start one. I'm suspecting that maybe UNIX SAS...

Excel: How to add TAB character

I haven't found this in the FAQ or when searching the forum: How can I add a literal TAB character in Excel? Right now I want to replace every instance of a double-space with a TAB. How can I enter a TAB character in the Replace: window for text replacement? While I'm at it, let me ask how...

Excel: Want repeating headers, EXCEPT on last page

Great! This sounds like what I need. You know, what I did so far was to put the summary on a different worksheet, but I thought that I'd need to "fool" Excel into printing the right page numbers. (I have a footer that prints 'Page X of Y' and I wanted the numbering to be consecutive and...

Excel: Want repeating headers, EXCEPT on last page

I have a document in Excel that should have column headings repeated on all pages, except that the last page is a summary page and doesn't have the same formatting at all. I want to find some way of turning off the automatic header. Right now (using Excel 2003), I go to 'Page Setup', go to the...

Macro window: Is it possible to make global text changes?

I have a long macro that sets many control properties, based on many conditions. Examples of conditions are: [Reports]![rptCVD]![Flag] = 0 [Reports]![rptCVD]![Flag] = 1 [Reports]![rptCVD]![Flag] = 2 [Reports]![rptCVD]![Flag] = 3 Examples of actions are to SetValue for the...

Can I have two page headers?

Thanks very much for your help!! I'll think about ways I could maybe restructure my report to force things.

Can I have two page headers?

Yes, that's exactly right. Each subreport can span several pages, and the subreport header doesn't show up on any later pages. Is there really no way around this in Access? It seems like a pretty common thing to want to do...

Can I have two page headers?

Yes. That's exactly the problem. Each subreport can take multiple pages, and after the first page, the header doesn't print. Is there really no way around this in Access? It doesn't seem like an unusual thing to want to do...

Can I have two page headers?

I can't just put the blue stuff in the main page header because there are three or four subreports that print in sequence. I want the header of whichever subreport is CURRENT to print on the new page. (Point well-noted about Y2K...)

Can I have two page headers?

I want to print a "main" page header on every page of my report. I also want to print a subreport header below the "main" header on each new page. I've seen a number of posts that refer to the "Repeat Section" property. It looks like I can set this property and I'll get the repeated headers...

How can I see what the formats are?

Sounds like a good idea. But I want to know ALL the values in the format, not just the ones that appear in my data. I would guess this solution would be something along the lines of looking into the catalog with the formats??? But I don't know anything about catalogs. Any ideas, anyone?

How can I see what the formats are?

I received a dataset with built-in formats. How can I print out a listing of the raw values together with formatted values? Thanks!

    Function to select text strings

Wait!! I realized an obvious way to do this. Just have a translation table of coded value to text string. Sorry I posted too fast!

    Function to select text strings

There should be a function I'm just not familiar with. I have a table with a coded variable, CLINIC. I want to produce a string on a report, depending on what the variable CLINIC holds. Example: CLINIC could be: MGH, HMC, JMH and on the report, I want: MGH = Meadowbrook General Hospital...

    Formatting unexpectedly changes

Thanks. I tried this and no luck. I installed Service Pack 1/1a then Service Pack 3, and the reports are still stretched out. Any other ideas?
