Interestingly enough, after performing several upgrades the problem seems to have disappeared.

    Alright Novell guru's

It sounds like Norton Antivirus is causing the problem. The first thing I would do is rem it out of the startup.ncf and restart the server. Make sure the server starts up ok and is healthy. Then, delete Norton and do a reinstall. Hope this helps... zr

Using Wireless and handheld devices with GroupWise 6.0.

We are exploring wireless access with GW as well. Any web enabled palm or handheld should be able to access GW web access. The Blackberry solution is a bit more complicated. Depending upon where you are located, coverage may be an issue. GW requires a back office solution involving a server /...

    Laptop Locks up on shutdown

Thanks Krale, I tried to shut the machine down from the command line and it seems to work just fine that way. I did record an error one time, but not since then. I will dig it up and post the error. In Summary, it does not shutdown from the gui, but does from a command line. So at least I have...

    Laptop Locks up on shutdown

Hi All, I have RH8 loaded on an IBM r31 laptop. I have been experiencing a problem lately where the machine locks up with the numlock and the caps lock key lights flashing when I choose shutdown. Any ideas why this happens? My workaround is just to shut down the machine with the power button...

    SUSE 8.1 Boot error 28

Since I posted this I ended up going back to 7.3 and sticking with that. It just works better with that particular machine. (Since I could not get 8.1 to boot, I guess I shoud say it is theonly onethat works...) It seems that every other version is a winner, both with RedHat and Suse. So, form...

    SUSE 8.1 Boot error 28

Hi all, Well, I got my boxed set of Suse 8.1 pro last night and proceeded to install it on my Compaq Presario 6000. This machine is (was) already a dual boot win2k/Suse 7.3 machine. Worked great. I boot from a floppy to Linux. I installed 8.1, and on the reboot received the following error...

How to set up both XP and Red Hat 8.0?

Hi aplusc, The way I see it, you have two options. I don't believe that RH8 will deal well with NTFS. You could reformat it as FAT32 and then install Linux on top of it, or you could just delete all of the partitions on the drive and let the install partition and format it the way that it wants...

    RH8 on a Prosario problem

Thanks for the reply. Last night I installed Suse's version of Linux, 7.3 professional and got it up and running. I blew everything away from my previouse xp install and started from scratch. I was amazed at how well the Suse distrobution handled all of the hardware, as compared to RedHat's...

    RH8 on a Prosario problem

Hi All, Has any one sucessfully installed RedHat 8 on a Presario 6000 series desktop with a flat panel monitor and the stock Nvidia graphics card? I have tried 3 times now with no sucess. Slow Printing in Windows 2K

Wow. It's been a whole year since this problem first reared it's ugly head. My solution, which I should have posted earlier, was to change the resolution of the printer. You might want to check this, but some of the machines we have were actually pausing between pages. We are using HP LJ 4...
