Maximum number of covers on an extension?

I have a customer support line with two support reps. I have them set up with primary covers of the extension. I want to setup secondary coverage to the support line on the phones of our sales and consulting teams. I seem to have run into a limit after 6 people on the secondary cover. Is...

Issues with the Cheyenne Alert Notification Server service

I use this service to send emails via Exchange. It has been completely unreliable and the service crashes all the time. I am running all the latest updates and it has always done this on this server. Has anyone seen issues with this ancient service? ArcServe 2000 w/SP3 and updates. Chris Green

    Extensions without phones

Excellent Don. I will look for that setting. Our operater is set to our customer service extension and we use a PRI with DID. If an invalid extension can go there that will save tons of time. Chris Green

    Extensions without phones

If I remove the mailbox completely from the voicemail system is that adequate? Or will it still try to forward it there? Chris Green

    Extensions without phones

We've recently had a large reduction in our staff. What is the best way to deal with this on a Merlin Magix? I'm used to phone systems like the definity where the concept of extensions and ports are two different objects. I want to delete the phones for all of these users and forward all of...

    Voice Mail Cover

Yep... This just seemed like a simple enough feature that it should have been there. But then again, $40k on a phone system SHOULD get you a heck of a lot better than WinSPM for management too. Chris Green

    www.messenger

Would you mind sending me an email and/or posting here when you do see it? I really thought that was what we were getting, and it reflected badly on me when I told management it wouldn't work like that. Chris

    www.messenger

Does anyone know if there is a newer version available that allows users to listen to messages via their pc. I see that the product associated with intuity and octel systems has this capability. We bought the system partially because of the web interface availability only to find it useless...

Cheap/Free way to make labels for phone?

We have Merlin Magix with mostly 4412D+ handsets. I don't mind cutting it out, I have to do that with Label Magix anyway.

Cheap/Free way to make labels for phone?

Is there a freeware product out there like Label Magix? Or has anyone created a template in Word, Excel, PDF, Etc? I'd like to make nice labels, but if my only option is Label Magix they are going to be in pencil! Chris Green

Changing outgoing message in the system directory

Is there any way to change the system prompt in the directory? Currently it is the default message asking the caller to dial a name, but it does not specify first or last name. Since the Magix system only allows one label on the mailbox, this tends to confuse our customers. I would like to...

    Voice Mail Cover

Hrmm.. On the definity I used to support, You could add voicemail lights to a phone for other extensions. We commonly did this for a dedicated support extension. That is how i proceeded with this.. For Example Support line = 2600 Tech 1 - 2611 Tech 2 - 2612 There is no actual phone assigned...

    Voice Mail Cover

We have a Merlin Magix with 4412D+ handsets. I have a few people who cover other lines for special purposes, such as customer service, accounting, etc. How can I set up their phones so they can see if there are any voicemail messages in the box? Chris Green

    WinSPM Direct Connect

I hate to dig up such an old thread, but do you have a Graybar part number? I can't find one of these anywhere. Chris Green

Using differential backups with the Exchange Agent

Well.. I wouldn't say I know why.... I just know that it doesn't work, and I fixed my issue..... I'd like to report the bug to CA, but I'm not paying for the right to hold and report a bug. Chris Green

Using differential backups with the Exchange Agent

I don't do brick backups. I hate brick backups. The only backups I care about are IS/DS backups. Apparently it had an issue even doing those properly over TCP/IP. Chris Green

    I need a new backup strategy-what's yours?

    1. Consider running differential jobs. 2. Consider putting the drives on dedicated servers with enough storage to replicate all the data local before running your backups. I backup remote locations this way using robocopy to perform change-based replication. 3. Consider a dedicated backup...
