Hold on a second!!! Any project is governed by a Statement of Work. In my experience, too little time is spent hammering out a mutual agreement that sets out what is allowable within scope and what requires a change order. You don't state whether your project is fixed-price or time and...
How about one of these?

Ok, here's something I've used very successfully lately. It is a combination of things that have already been said. Start by finding out who will be the user of whatever you are programming.

You can use Project to handle maintenance tasks a couple of ways. Using the "Insert" menu you can enter recurring tasks, or just schedule a series of maintenance tasks. Just put in the appropriate resource(s) and predecessor(s). No real magic to it.
tbohon...
If you've tried 4-5 methodologies and none of them were successful, then you may have a bigger problem that will not be solved by spending yet more money on yet another methodology.
Can you tell us what happened?

Well said, Matthew! Quite often there is too much money and other resources at stake to go with someone who has no experience. However, there are lead positions on any project, for example, since you are in IT you should be able to find, lead business analyst, lead architect, lead designer...
I get the impression there is more that we aren't seeing with this issue. If you look at the Network diagram, there should be a red highlighted Critical Path throughout the plan. If not, then your tasks may be scheduled such that they all have some slack in them. You can create a table...
Yes, it should be possible. The resource group will have its own calendar with the number of hours you want to allot to it.
It seems that you may have a problem differentiating between the type of work, though. Having 2000 hours to do apparently any tasks seems way too general to me. But...
Almost forgot, once again depending on the version you are using, there is a way to take a "picture" of a gantt chart and save it as a gif that can be posted on a web site or e-mailed to interested parties. This uses a "copy picture" function within Project. There should be...

...units, and resource calendars, providing for more accurate scheduling.
Specifically, use resources in your project when your goal is to:
* Track the amount of work done by the people and equipment, or the amount of material used, in completing tasks.
* Ensure high accountability for...
There is no such viewer that I am aware of. However, depending on the version you are using, I would recommend that the plan be exported to Excel. There is an Excel viewer

that you can use to allow people without Excel to view the...
You can create the resources as a group instead of as individual people. If the group works 3 shifts, you can use the 24 hr calendar to show round the clock work time. If not, you can use a standard or custom calendar. Make sure that you take into account the number of people in the group and...
This is easily done depending on the version you are using. In Proj2000, there is an export function that would allow you to define an export of whatever you want. The format can be comma delimited (CSV) for use in Access or another db product or Excel format to create a "dashboard"...
Interesting. Why wouldn't you want to baseline the plan? Doing so would allow you to see where you are relative to the original plan for hours. The baseline can be written over or (depending on the version you use) alternate baseline fields could be used to save the baseline.
