morpethone,
I have intel's pocket PC camera and you have to purchase the 2k/XP drivers for it(which includes the Create and share software). So I'm guessing that you will have to do the same for any of those older cameras, if it pertains to your camera.

Neil,
Check in My Computer, right-click your CD Drive, properties, autoplay tab, and double check the settings in there to see if something doesn't look right. Apply for each "content type."
You can also delay the autoplay when you insert your CD, by pressing shift down while you insert it...

You can make a shortcut on ur desktop and have it point to this path:
X:\windows\explorer.scf
"X:\" being the root drive(the one ur logged in under, Usually C:\)
That will start you under the root drive also, kind of like what nlm9802 stated, but without typing it under the run...
LEICJDN1,
Sounds likes the easiest way I can think of would be to use resource hacker to change it. And to be honest with you, I've only used it to change my "Start" bar to read "Schmitty"(my nick name). And to do that, I still had to tap into the registry, but that's a little different than...
redmike,
Maybe disable one card for now, until you get the other one in working order. Try going into your router config and clone the MAC address of the NIC card that is still enabled and connected to the router. Maybe driver updates??? I've also ran into a problem similar to this with my...
Hi all,
This is probably an easy one, but in Mozilla's Firfox 0.8 when there is a link displayed on a site, and I click on it, Firefox opens a new window to display the page in the link. What I am curious about is how do I tell Firefox to open up the link in a new "Tab," and not a new...
...in "Turn Off Unlimited Possibilities".....i.e. Mine says "Turn Off Gateway Laptop" because that's what I used for the computer Description. ***Not to be confused with the computer name***
I guess I'm not really understanding exactly what you mean by it. And that really wouldn't have...
I also had a similar problem this year at my school. Only few computers could access our library system website. On the computers that could get to the site, they had a different DNS server address entered. My local server's DNS IP for Primary, and the ISP as an alternate under TCP/IP...
Mich,
If you click on remote desktop on your computer, you can click options to drop down for more advanced options, and there will be a area to "save as" and you can save all of your settings that you have/want for your tech who is rebuilding his hard drive. The .rdp's save to My Documents by...
I think as long as you have the same kind of battery (the number on the back of the battery itself) you should be good to go. You could probably even pick one up at your local drug store, Wal-mart, target, whatever works. Or you could search online if ur in a hurry.
Have you scanned for spyware? Sounds like one of those little annoyances. Otherwise if that doesn't do it. Try to Install XP over the top of XP (upgrade option) to keep your files, or is that what you meant by "repairing" Windows?
Have you tried deleting your previous Dial-up connection or adding a new one? have you checked your any proxy, firewall(ICF), DNS address(if not already automatic) or IE settings? Maybe an updated driver for your modem(doubtful)?
Let me know what you have tried and what you haven't. If...
