I was afraid of that... The client really wants to stay away from Centrify and Vintella and does not want to use the Active Directory Connector that is installed on the Oracle Access Server...
whoo boy...
Thnxs for the confirmation though...

Does anyone know of an open source application that I can use to redirect password change request from Active Directory to a url? This application should be intelligent enough to hook into the process and redirect users to a url for single sign on authentication... I would, of course, prefer...
Well, it seems as though this was a non-issue... The IT guy was using a beta product to do this and was having issues... When he utilized another method, he was able to change the value of the attribute...
Thnxs anyway...

Ha, it's their environment, I'm the outsider, but it is only a development environment, so it doesn't really matter...
anyway, they will not have schema admin privs in production, so I wanted to find a way for them to have the necessary permissions or create the attribute so that a particular...
I have put together a test Active Directory Environment. One of the requirements is to extend the schema with a company specific attribute... I created the attribute, went into the User class and added it as an optional attribute. Now, when one of the administrators uses ldapbrowser and...
Now, I know the first question is WHY would you want to lose the sids on all of the objects in the originating forest. The complex answer is because I have to. I have been tasked with moving an entire domain, which is empty today, but won't be three years from now, and sending the equipment and...
That used to happen to me all of the time, until I figured out that I had to rename the file and save them elsewhere... but I do agree that you should use the solution above.. It works a lot better and if you more than 3 RDP connections saved, it reduces the hassles...

yeah, I was reading a post with the exact same response... Hence me saying that all pwords have been confirmed... I can access the shares using XP, the clocks are synched +/- 30 seconds and the issue persists...
Thnxs, but any other ideas...

Help.... On all of my Vista boxes, I get the error "The specified network password is not correct error" when I attempt to install software from a network share... I can map the share successfully, read/write to share as well... I am certain that I am using the correct password (verified by...
I apologize, I am using a VLK product, hence my confusion over why this would not work... I also tried to input the number from the COA,just to see if that would make a difference... I realize that I was grasping at straws, but what else could I do... I have imaged countless machines using this...
After sysprepping my valid and working XP Pro w/SP2 system, creating an image and then restarting the machine, it runs through the mini-setup as expected... However, when it comes to the area where the Product ID key is supposed to be input, it shows the correct product id, but when it attempts...
Thanks... hadn't thought about that one either... not sure if I can locate another battery for this unit, but I'll keep my eyes open for one...

I think the best advice given was to try GetDataBack (submitted by Freestone)... They have two versions, one for Fat and one for NTFS... It has saved my bacon countless of times... Works on drives that have been repartitioned and imaged as well, so a simple format shouldn't be anything to worry...
I have had issues with data loss on memory sticks as well... I was able to successfully retrieve the data using third party recovery utilities... I actually used GetDataBack and was successful in retrieving 100% of my stuff...
However, the stick was utterly useless... I haven't junked it yet...
I realize that it is a hardware fault, I am actually looking for a specific hardware fault that I can repair myself... I am capable of stripping down the mobo and replacing whatever component is necessary... I just am not sure which component that would be... Would it be the power inverter or...
I removed the ac adapter from the unit and removed the battery as suggested... It is definitely not going into standby and is powered off... As soon as battery is reinserted, the light comes back on...

Stupid question, but I had this issue some years ago... Is your PS set for 115V or 210V? If it is set on the 210V option, this will happen... Sorry for the obvious, but other than that, I don't see why you would be having this problem... About how long after the system is running does it...
I have a Toshiba Satellite 2800-S202... I have a problem where the power light will not turn off, even after the system itself has shut down... The laptop functions normally other than that... Because of this issue, the battery dies due to the slow drain caused by this lcd light not going...
