For the record: I had a Win98SE disk at home. I brought it in, installed it, and now have no problems!! Electronics Freak had it right the first time. I had forgotten about my disk at home.

When I try to send a link or document from my desktop or from a website, I get a message whent the email opens for an address to be added: "This message has not been sent." This message appears over the SEND button, so you can figure the message is never going to be sent! That's my XP at home...
No help, as yet. I think I'll just wait until my boss brings the company up to the 21st century with a new computer and more up-to-date software. Sorry I can't be of any help to you.

Thanks. I tried both to no avail. The file I'm seeking is NTDLL.DLL:RtlCopySid.
I have NTDLL.DLL, that's not a problem. I need the one with the "RtlCopySid." after it.
Still looking...

I guess I just need to get the "missing export NTDLL.DLL:RtiCopySid." file. I checked DLL.com, and they were of no help: they didn't even recognize a file by that name.
Is there another way to get into my desktop display apart from right-clicking on "properties"? Something "backdoor"...
I've been told that there is no CD available to get the files from by our "Resident Nerd" (his title for himself), so I'm trying to get outside help.
He did take care of the powrprof.dll message some way. But the other message still comes up at start-up.
I just recently downloaded some software to wipe out spam; it didn't work on my computer, so I uninstalled it. When it uninstalled, it took some files with it. Now my desktop can not be changed. Properties does not open. When I start up I get these two messages:

I started the computer using one added utility at a time and found the culprit to be the Surf-In-Peace pop-up blocking software! Excellent pop-up blocker, but I had programmed a size into it that the diminished items pretty much matched, and it zapped them. I removed the dimensions from the...
When I try to minimize a web site or a file, they close. I might as well have just "X"ed it. It also gets rid of all open items when I click on the "Show Desktop" button. Anyone know how I can correct this?

I just recently had a new hard drive installed in my PC, and whatever previous settings that may have existed are by the boards. I am networked to Apple Laserwriter (which I have used for years!) which does not print what I send - the fonts are all wrong. I am also networked with an ECRM...
For the record here is the answer: Go to "tools", click on "customize", go to "Options" (if not open), uncheck "List font names in their font".

I just recently replaced my hard drive and had to reinstall MS Publisher 2002.
1st problem: when I check the font drop-down, TT shows but the name of the fonts do not. I checked with MS, and they recommended something for XP; mine is Win98se. Help!
2nd problem: I am networked to Apple...
You also might want to try a free download "Browser Hijack Blaster". Google or any other good search engine can find it for you. AdAware is not good. It's great!! It's also free.

Thanks to Buckeye Computers for putting me on the right track! What I wound up doing was actually deleting the file type that had the Windows Unknown icons and creating the types I needed (jpg & bmp). And that works great!
Thanks muchly!
Cap'n Don
I know how to do that. What I want to have is the ability to identify jpgs and bmps by their unique icons. At present, I can't tell one from the other.
Thanks, anyway.
Cap'n Don
I downloaded a graphics editor (can't remember which!), and the icons for jpgs and bmps were changed to Windows "unknown" icons. Can anyone help me with this?
Blessings!
