    Excel Window with multiple Files

Office 2000 Win XP Sp2 Usually when I (or anyone else here) open an excel file, I do so from Windows Explorer - it opens right up and if I open another excel file from windows explorer, it opens a 2nd window, and a third, etc etc. I have multiple instances of excel in my task bar and life is...

XP share directory periodically loses share

XP Pro SP2. On a pc, I have a shared directory off of c. I have enabled it via Properties - Sharing - Network Sharing and Security, and I "share this folder on the network" and "allow network users to change files". Windows firewall is disabled. There is only one pc, also XP Pro sp 2, that...

    DNS reload?

Thanks goombawaho it was unload and reload named that I needed. Everything looks proper in DNS/DHCP management, but all of a sudden things stopped working - which is expected if you have dup ip addresses. Anyway, we're back on track. Thanks

    DNS reload?

The hows and whys are another issue, but a cisco switch was added to our netowrk, that somehow duplicated the server ip address, and (naturally) I got a bunch of errors. The rogue switch is now under lock and key, but there are a few things not quite right - for instance, workstation import...

Thanks again Marvin That did the trick. Leslie

    Subnet mask change

Thanks Marvin I removed the option in the DHCP Service and it immediately changed the subnet mask in the dhcpsub addressing section to the correct one (255.255.0.0). Heowever, even after releasing the lease, deleting the ip address and then logging back in, my test pc still shows a subnet mask...

    Subnet mask change

I went into inetcfg and in the TCP/IP Protocol Configuration screen, and I did not find ANY reference to the subnet mask. In the Bindings section, both instances of TCP/IP showed the subnet mask of the connected network as FF.FF.0.0. In the View Configruation section, under All INTCFG commands...

    Subnet mask change

We had outside assistance to rebuild our server when we lost a couple of drives, and somehow, during the rebuild, the subnet mask changed from 255.255.0.0 to 255.0.0.0 I would like to change it back. Can I? Should I? None of my ip addresses have changed - all my devices have static ips...

    remote management agent permission required

Update - resolution I was able to create other new accounts that defaulted properly to my standard workstation policy setup. So, although I have no idea what happened, I created a new account for the user and it is working fine.

What happened to Time Sync Adjustment??

Thanks for the tip. Have a star

What happened to Time Sync Adjustment??

I agree - that would be the best, but I am fighting corporate firewalls and access. I can't even use "the offical us time" using the java display, unless I resort to my backup dial-up account. We were acquired when our parent went Chapt 11 and our company is treated like one big end user.

    USB Flash drive Invisible

You don't have to unmap the drives first - just go to disk management and change the drive letter. You can verify which drive in "my computer", but normally it is the first share drive. In our case it's always "F" - the system drive.

What happened to Time Sync Adjustment??

Timesync IS loaded and all the other options for it show up. Just not the adjustment. Strange. Anyway, I bit the bullit and dusted off my command line skills: set timesync time adjustment = + 00:01:00 to advance the server clock ahead one minute.

    remote management agent permission required

Yes. It is definetely connected to the user. I am at a loss.

What happened to Time Sync Adjustment??

Thanks Neil. I have been away from the command line too long. I need to get back to the basics ;-)

What happened to Time Sync Adjustment??

Netware 6.0 SP 5 - Just went in to make a time adjustment on the server - the first since the new DST patch. Also recently went to SP5. I always just load monitor, go to server parameters, time and then timesync adjustment. And timesync adjustment is not there. The time server type is Single...

    remote management agent permission required

Remote Management Agent - Novell ZENworks for Desktops 4 Support Pack 1 Novell 6 sp5 (this is a recent update) I successfully create and remove workstaions as per my policy. My workstation remote control policy is specifically set to NOT require the user's permission, tho' it does "give a...

    Support Pack update

For the record, I seem to be unable to seach key words on the forum today, so sorry if this has been addressed. I am currently using Netware 6.0 with support pack 3. I have been holding off on the updates because we had a lot of old DOS based equipment still running on the network (with no...
