Hi
We have 3 mail servers, 1 is working fine, the other 2 are slow and problematic. The only real difference I can see is that the working one is using all its pagefile and memory for the store and the dodgy ones aren't, so they are having to drag data from the SAN which is relatively slow...
Yes, after writing this message, i worked that out for myself (via MS support), thanks alot tho.
Its strange, because this never needed to be added Pre SP3, as we have had shared mailboxes for ages without having to add this field.
thanks
Hiya
Since upgrading the exchange servers to SP3, we can no longer `reply from` attached mailbox's - we have to reply using our own IDs, which isn't much good.
For example, we add a new mailbox called Network Admin to our normal account, and all queries go there, we used to be able to reply...
I work for a University.
Right, the students living in the local residencies here have network points in their rooms, we register their cards with our database that then gets exported to the win2k DHCP servers. ok
Some of the little bastards are nicking other peoples IP addresses by typing it...
Nah dont worry, chances are you'll be ok, it's probably only about 5% of users complaining, that's why via can't put there finger on what's wrong, as they can't produce the errors in their labs so they say.
"turn off sideband addressing
turn off fastwrites
set AGP appature to 64 or less"
Well that may work, but it would only be a quick fix and it would make performance suffer, if it didn't then why would those enhancements be available (turned on) in the first place. Someone with over...
Make sure ACPI is enabled in the BIOS (and it's detected in the Device Manager), also make sure u have the latest VIA 4in1 drivers installed and the latest BIOS for your mobo.
Make sure your IDE controllers on each of the CD/CDR channels are set to PIO Mode and not DMA mode in Device Manager, some older drives dont like DMA and wont show up in Windows if this is enabled.
SiS is ok - I made a friend a very cheap Duron PC from one, very stable, but a cheap solution that's not much use to powerusers and overclockers. The next mobo I get will probably be P4/DDR/intel setup (maybe i845DDR) Although I love Athlons and their cheapness and power, I'm fed up with VIA...
I hate it, once you get the title `virus update person` that's all u ever do, and when the sh`t hits the fan, your the one to blame...
My most used term at the moment "Nothing to do with me, you shouldn't have clicked on that attachment"
I'm beginning to think, what with this new virus outbreak today (which seems to be a weekly affair nowadays), that Exchange/Outlook is a total waist of time, it's a constant battle upgrading virus packages and downloading fixes for exploits in 2k. Coz of the amount of users (a university)We are...
We installed the proper sophos MailMonitor last night (came out of beta yesterday I think), all seems to be working, but I've left all that to my boss, as virus protection a crap job and I want nothing to do with it!
I hate sophos, it seems to flakey, but then it's what we have a licence for...

I never could get the Arcserve2k agent to work, we have to turn off the services, then just do a full backup of everything.. then turn it back on again :(
The server in question is Win2k Advanced, 4xXeon500's 136GB Raid-5 Disks, 2GB ram.
All services packs are upto date (run windows/update), it's running on a 100mbit, full duplex.
What do u mean by /3GB switch?
