I keep having the same problem.
As I work on Photoshop I have set the clipping path to keep the transparent background of the image and then saved as Photoshop EPS. But there is still something wrong, as I cannot have my picture with its transparent background... both on screen and on print...
I work on Quark X Press 5 on PC. When importing a transparent background image (EPS or GIF) on a Quark X Press document a loose the transparency and the image gets automatically the white background. In particular, when importing an EPS file I get the message "PostScript Picture"...
