...Here’s the problem that keeps arising. In playing around with the problem even further, it is definitely looking to sync with the *old* Dell that we removed. You had the “shared folder” set on the old Dell, correct? With that, the *only* time the sync fails is if you open up My Computer...
Hi and thanks for your time in advance!

After playing and playing with this problem, I wound up reformatting it and all is well of course. Registry hacks, spyware removal programs, a/v, you name it, couldn't kick it out at all.
The great thing that has come out of this is everyone's suggestion for Ewido. That program ROCKS...
Here it is. Any thoughts? FYI: I did already try the winsock xp fix (resets the host file...been very successful before with it).

Current situation is as follows:
*Dell on XP Pro runs like a champ.
*Can be on the internet for about 10 minutes or so, THEN, pop up stopper kicks in and then the browser's connection is lost, HOWEVER, I can ping any site all day in the command prompt.
*It will also then not allow Firefox to...
...for IDE 1 and 2, still same result. Tried different RAM too.
Reset the bios...same result. Never seen this one before. The computer otherwise *runs like a champ* and happens on both IDE channels, so I don't *think* it's a mobo issue.
Any ideas? Your time and efforts are always greatly...
Situation:
Client had an old mouse, PS2, which would "smoothly scroll" when using the wheel. In other words, it would not jump line to line, just a smooth scroll of the page.
Replaced with an optical mouse (Logiteck) and the wheel jumps quite a few lines at a time, not smooth anymore...
Hey Roger! Thanks for the reply! No, Ibuddie does not use an internal battery at all. The other question I just had sent to my client in thinking this through is that I delivered the new set of external battery / AC cord to his house up north and I believe it worked fine. He has a second...

I got this link above from bcastner. I've purchased and tested this tool. This tool is AWESOME! It will help restrict users (customized by user) even without a server OS. Maybe this could help. Very inexpensive too.
