One of my friends computer won't run Dreamweaver 4, yet most other systems I try it on it works fine. When they try to load it it just exits straight away without loading anything. It even does it after a reload of Windows. They are using WinME if that's significant. Any ideas anyone??
I was using my 2nd HDD which is a Maxtor 15Gb temporarily as my primary drive as to test Windows XP on. Before installing I physically removed my main drive and installed XP on the 15gig. Afterwards I found it was still unstable and so formatted it in dos and loaded Win2K on it. That crashed...
Hmmm, just tried using Win2k on my 2nd HDD to see if that solves my problem and it does it in 2K as well, in fact it crashed before setup had even finished. So now I've switched back to my 1st HDD as being the boot drive, formatted the 2nd HDD and started to transfer my data back onto it and...
I've tried installing the latest service pack for Office XP, but whenever I run it I get the following error message and have to cancel the install:
"
Error 1328: Error applying patch to file
C:\Config.Msi\PT96.tmp. It has probably been updated
by other means, and can no longer be modified...
I know how to solve this. XP when connecting to a shared folder decides to check for scheduled tasks on the remote machine, which consumes time. So to solve this make this simple adjustment to the registry:
Find...
I know the answer to this, it's the same with all mobilities. It's the driver which allows the monitor switching through the VGA port on the back. It's done from the Display Settings Window.
Heheheheheh ;)
Tried that before, it sure did slow my system down. I've even tried reserving IRQ11 for ACPI only so the devices are reassigned but that slows my system down as well. :(
Thanks for the suggestion anyway :)
Hi,
Anybody have any idea how to do basic graphics in C which involves color changes and lines? Possibly even changes of resolutions. In other words similar commands to those in QBASIC.
...yet, but if they have then make sure you know the model of the Mobility and head over to http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html
You should hopefully be able to get a driver from there
If it's not out, then it looks like you'll be waiting a while knowing how *fast* ATi are at uploading new...
It is accessible by right-clicking "My Computer" and then on properties. Click on the Advance TAB, and you can turn off auto-rebooting from there.
Someting else I've noticed is that since I stopped getting ACPI errors due to the so called "ABit 68 patch that will remove ACPI...
I know my problem is not heat related as my cpu temp is around 43 degree celcius, and my GeForce doesn't really get that hot due to the exhaust fan underneath it.
I have recently converted to NTFS due to better file recovery features, but still get the same problem :(
At the weekend when...
Hmmm, I've just remembered that 0xcf8 is the start address for the PCI Config. Wonder if there is any other common factor since the problem seems to be mostly caused by nVidia and VIA running XP. So far the only consistency I've noticed is XP since I've seen some users in other forums get the...
Hmmm, I wonder if this problem will ever go away....
I've updated my BIOS to the latest version (68) and it still crashes. Though now I just don't get an error in the Event Log saying ACPI error. So when ABit said the ACPI in Event Viewer had been fixed they weren't kidding!!! Shame they didn't...
At work I've just finished installing a router that is supposed to share a Tele2 (Broadband) connection between 7 computers.
I've set up the Tele2 settings on the router, and the network configuration on all the PCs are set to use the router. Yet Internet explorer and Outlook will not see the...
Since I got a new router (Linksys BEFSR41 10/100 4-Port Switch/Router) to use with my cable modem I have found that some webpages no longer work, such as www.cnet.com yet they all still work if I use dial-up instead. There are no features in the Router setup program to be able to add/remove...
