Could changing the 'spanning tree portfast' feature on the routers have anything to do with the communication problems? I have recently been able to ping to the server, but still can't access it. I can't even access it using unicast, although I thought if I could ping it I should be able to...
Discovered today that I can ping the server, but I still can't access it. I did a ping and it went through just fine. I am looking into the things mentioned here, and hopefully all will be well. Thanks for your time.
I may have neglected to mention that I can ping the workstation from the server console. I just can't ping the server from the workstation. Also, I can telnet to the router from the workstation, then to the server from there, but I can't telnet directly to the server from the workstation.
OK, now I have another problem, or not, depends on if it is supposed to do/be like this! The IP bound to the server is 10.0.0.4, the subnet is 255.255.255.0. Inetcfg is fine with this, but TCPCon is showing it as 10.0.0.0 with that subnet. Am I doing something wrong here? I admin this server...
When starting, I get a message saying there is a problem with DNS or IP for Ifolder. I have to hit any key to continue booting the server. How do I change the IP or DNS now that I have already messed it up? There are question marks in several places when I open NWAdmin. Should I just start...
An update, now I can ping the other router from the server, after configuring the static route. Went to the other school, and still can't access the server! What could be wrong. Typically, my school district doesn't have any money to hire a professional network engineer to resolve these...
Help, I installe nw6, have a lan with Cisco 2620 routers connecting school sites. Both routers configured the same. I can ping the local router, but not the one across a t1. The other site can not find the server. I have rip with arp proxy enabled, as suggested at Novell site. Any ideas or...
How do I change the IP address on a cisco switch? I was asked to do this to free up the address as we are going to internal numbers, and don't quite know how to do it.

...we have added t1 lines, and so on! I am learning, hopefully fast enough to keep up with it all... Actually, I am a cook who likes to play with the 'puters! Any suggestions on where to look for advice on router problems? Thanks, as always *don't know what I would do without you - all!* Sherry
Don't think I am out of ram, or the server. Has come up from a new reboot. This has only happened since I installed freeremote. Think I will temp uninstall and see if that helps. Actually kind of like freeremote. Found the lost password in the Autoexec.ncf if I could only use it! Thanks, Sherry
Well, that would be great, except for the "out of environment space" message that I keep getting! I don't know what to do about that, now that I can put in a new password. Any help with that would be appreciated. Thanks, Sherry
When trying to open rconsole, I get a message that reads "out of environment space". What could cause that? I have installed Freeremote from the Novell site, and use that, but just discovered a hidden password for the server, and wanted to try it on rconsole. The reasone I downloaded...
