ok I found out this mac address it belongs to a program called black ice (version unknown) this mac will broadcast atleast twice a second causing an additional 20-30k traffic/s on the network. Is this also your conclusion? -Nathan-

Did you find the problem of this mac address yet? I am having the exact problem and it is causing a constant 30K stream of traffic on my network!

Hi there I have a Cat 6500 that is set up with gig ports to aa bunch of 2948G the problem that I am having is it seems like the switches are acting like hubs ... I am seeing alot of traffic on a port where the traffic dose not belong so basically any traffic transmitted or recieved is showing up...

do you have a VPN timeout set to 50 min? is it timeing out after not sending any traffic or while you are currently useing the vpn? -

Is your Netbios server running un Linux or unix? I have had this problem with SUN boxes not being able to negotiate properly with Cisco switches. Also if it is a Linux box there might be a conflict if it is running a 3COM 509B ( a real B1tcH to figure out). -Goodluck --JoeDigital
