Nortel's web site tech search is still silent on this issue. However, there is a bulletin (2006007427) released on 10/27 for the BCM and Norstar platforms.
I still have two 2.02 Call Pilot systems (running unsupported MS NT 4.0) that I am concerned about, in addition to my CS1000.
PS, I think...
Unfortunately, I have found Polycom to have firmware issues on several of their products that have not been resolved. I also have some 3Com NBX systems with some Polycom IP Soundstaions that have firmware "issues" that have never been resolved by Polycom. There are workarounds, but should't...
Clear channel is 64 kb per channel, vs 56 kb per channel. 56 kb channels have the other 8 kb used for in-band signalling. Some telcos use the requirement for clear channel to extract additional money out of customers.
64 kb channels are required for PRI circuits.
I don't know your local situation, but you may also have alternatives to the phone company. Do you need data there also? How much bandwidth?
You could use a wireless link to carry your private T1 circuit between the two buildings; some equipment will allow Ethernet with multiple T1 circuits...
I was using a Polycom Soundstation 500D conference phone in an exec conference room and I ended up replacing it with a 3904 with a Full Duplex adapter. We experienced several problems with the digital Polycom, including sometimes not able to get dialtone, operator issues, problems setting up...
An update to our conversion to PRI trunks:
- Set up the new PRI as D250, no Rls number, and the trunk type as TIE
- Only major problem during cutover was needing to enable service messaging (ENL SERV x) in LD 96, else the trunks would go into MBSY.
- Major issues prior to conversion with the...
First PRI in this switch, although I have other PRIs with local trunking in another switch. I fully expect to have issues, since I also tandem outgoing LD calls from the other switch.
I've seen some references to the possibility of needing a DMI table to change the calltypes from private to...
Getting ready to set up a ISDN PRI to a new LD provider. They (MCI/Verizon Business) says they do DMS-250 / SL1 protocol. Should I set the B-channels up as DID or TIE trunks? Also, they don't know anything about the Rls setting that I will need.
I don't think you even need FTP to back up NRS; when I do an NRS Database Backup under Tools > Database Backup, the system allows me to click on "Download the latest backup file" and I can save it on my PC as a .tar file.
My main system has three cabinets with 445 TNs.
My take on it that you just have to analyse how many sets you plan to have, how much trunking to the central office, and the amount of calll traffic you will be placing on the switch. Personally, I couldn't see placing a 150 seat call center on a...
Yes, Opt. 11c - still don't get the new CS designations.
You've described pretty much what I want to do - keep my old DTI circuit going in slot 1, changing in LD 73 to primary clock off of slot 1, and making secondary freerun til the provider turns up the new PRI T1 in slot 2 -the card where my...
I'm getting ready to change LD providers that I feed via a dedicated T1 (and receive toll-free incoming).
Because I'm going to change over from DTI to PRI with the new circuit, and I expect to have to do some changes and testing, I purchased a new TMDI card for my CS1000M and will create new...
