Phantom internal calls to operator console

oof, yeah, ran into that on my home system here. Of course there I had no attendant console, not even a NITE DN. Calls would disappear if I fat fingered a transfer and did the wrong thing, often sticking the phone line off hook. It's now one of the things on my mental to-do list when helping...

Have 4 DID trunk lines that shows n

These are analog DID trunk lines? If you know what public numbers are associated to them, you might try calling them while having a butt set clipped on in parallel, see if hear any digits pulsing in. Honestly wouldn't be a surprise if the phone company shut off the circuit, or accidentally...

Option 61C Meridian Mail Tape Drive failure?

These drives and tapes are really quite old now, and they're a format that has a particular problem: QIC tapes have an internal rubber belt that is used to drive the reels of tape, and it degrades with time. There's some variety to the failure modes of rubber (some get hard and crack, others...

No Inbound calls on COT trunk

8D14 is an EXUT I believe, you can try fixing that in the route member, but I'm not sure if that will resolve your issue. I would check how my meridian is configured, but it's not been powered up for a while as I focus on other projects.

No Inbound calls on COT trunk

I don't know that this is part of the issue, but you may not have an XCOT, where are you located and what card do you have installed in the Meridian? I think EXUT is all we really got here in the US, XCOT was not so common or maybe not available. That would determine what you put in XTRK field...

    Dial 9 for outbound

You won't need BARS/NARS for a setup that simple. You can configure two trunk members in a single trunk group under the single ACOD 9, if you don't need any special routing.

    Dial 9 for outbound

If all you want to do is configure 9 to go direct to the COT, then you need to OUT any NARS/BARS stuff, and just set the ACOD for the COT to 9. Dialing 9 will give you dialtone on the COT (there's some other settings there, dig in the manuals a bit. It might give you fake dialtone until you've...

    NTAK75 Battery Box Trips Breaker

The best I can do is give you a bit of the theory of operation and maybe some suggestions here. I've done a bit of snooping around with how the DC/battery connection works on the option 11C supplies. You can find the whole writeup on my site, but the relevant information is probably scattered...

Converting an Option 11 AC PSU to DC PSU

A while back I did some experimentation with the NTAK04 power supply to find out if it was possible to effectively convert it into the NTAK05 DC variant. I did conclude it was possible to do so, and did a writeup detailing the process here...

    SL-100/CS-2100 boot process

The goal is mixed. Preservation for sure, but what's the point of preserving a thing if it doesn't run, and you can't use it. So it's more than making a display out of it, I want to be able to let people poke at it, test things on it, learn about it in a hands on way to some extent. And beyond...

    SL-100/CS-2100 boot process

Alright, I figured it out (on accident) and now I feel dumb. It was a bad DS-30 cable between the NTFX34 and the IOM bulkhead. I grabbed the cable on top of the pile and didn't know enough to know that a red light on the NTFX34 means a problem. I had some thought in my head that maybe I needed...

    Nortel CallPilot 201i

I'll second pulling the HDD. I think I used the trick where you replace logon.scr with cmd.exe and reset the password that way. I don't think I ever set it back. There's also some default passwords you might want to try, see step 7: Link

    SL-100/CS-2100 boot process

Hello Everyone! First off, I know this isn't quite the right forum for the SL-100/CS-2100, but I don't know where else to go. For context, the short version of the story is that I like to tinker with electronics and technology and I went and bought myself a Nortel SL-100/CS-2100 PBX. If you...
