EPSON STYLUS 1290s help required urgently

Thanks for the response, but in the end I figured it out on my own. The problem was that I was using the EPSON driver, which only prints on pre-set page sizes (thanks for pointing out the obvious, EPSON email support!). I switched to the GIMP driver and was able to get what I wanted.

EPSON STYLUS 1290s help required urgently

I don't see many printer-specific threads in here ... does anyone know where I can get some specific help for issues with setting up a custom page size on an EPSON STYLUS 1290s? Am pretty desperate for help, and EPSON seem to be mac-haters when it comes to their eChat support (i.e. it just...

Change target of Iframe using javascript

Worked like a charm ... thanks!

Change target of Iframe using javascript

Thanks 1DMF ... that looks like a fairly comprehensive explanation! I'll read it in depth later and test it out. Thanks again - very much appreciated.

Change target of Iframe using javascript

I am using this code: document.getElementById("storyframe").src=newSrc; where newSrc is a variable containing the new address, to change the contents of an Iframe whose ID is 'storyframe'. It works fine in Firefox, Exploder and Safari, but it does nothing whatsoever in Opera. Any ideas why...

Lens effect - transparancy. Output to PDF?

Yes ... you have to group the lens-filled objects, though.

Grids and guides locked up ...

I have Freehand MXa (2004, I believe) installed on a G5 Apple Macintosh suite (and yes folks, licencing is all above board, so there's no security complications), and it seems to be struggling with guides and grids. The problem is that neither the menu commands nor the keyboard shortcuts work...

    Webcam woes

I have just bought a couple of Mikomi m6225 webcams, and they both do the same thing when plugged in ... streaky black lines interlaced with video feed. I have NO idea what's causing this, but it has done the same with both cameras on 2 Windows XP computers. Can't be a fault with the hardware...

    Word is SO slow ...

I have Microsoft Office 2000 installed on my computer which runs on Windows XP - when I had Windows ME I didn't experience that many problems, but now that I've switched to XP (with a new computer), Word in particular is giving me SO much grief. It doesn't like anything with tables in it, and...

Display problems - monitor or graphics card?

The monitor is now showing permenantly red, after reboot, everything. Unfortunately I don't have extra monitors / graphics cards (otherwise I would have tried that!) ... I just wanted to know if anyone had suffered similar problems. If not, I'll have to try to source another monitor to try...

Display problems - monitor or graphics card?

Something weird happened to my display recently - after the computer woke up from hibernation the screen had a red cast to it - I can still see everything all right, it's just that now everything is red! I'm not sure whether it is my graphics card or my monitor causing the problem ... the...

Thanks - I'll check that out.

    IRQ holder problems

I'm running Windows ME, and the SCSI card is an Adaptec AVA-2902E host adapter.

    IRQ holder problems

I have just installed a SCSI PCI card in my machine, and it doesn't seem to be able to find it. I looked in the Device Manager - no sign of it - ran Install New Hardware - not picked up - even installed the drivers by hand ... still nothing. I ran System Information (in desperation!) and this...

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

I tried installing the Intel Accelerator Application, but it said I don't have an Intel chipset. I know my processor is an Intel 333MHz Celeron, but I don't know anything about chipsets, I'm afraid. The IDE Bus Master Controller is an ALi M5229, and the mobo seems to be American Megatrend...

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

This is looking interesting ... thanks cdogg and garebo. I'll try that later on. Um, just to clear up some questions that were asked, yes the CD-R works fine too - it's ripping at 1.4x - still not great, but much better than 0.9x! I'll let you know what happens when I install the Application...

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

I know that both CDROM and CD-R are working fine ... no problems with either. I have also been scouring the BIOS for options to enable DMA for the 2 HDs ... there is no option. I can set the PIO, number of cylinders, etc etc, but can't enable DMA access. The only other reference to DMA I can...

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

Have an argument, why don't you?! Anyhoo ... back to the issue at hand. I'm prepared to accept that DMA doesn't necessarily need to 'stick' on the CD drives, hoever ... I can't make it stick on the CD drives either. Each time I check 'enable DMA' for the HDs and reboot they magically uncheck...

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

    1) Winamp 5.08 2) Windows ME 3) 1 Samsung CDROM (52x), 1 Lite-On CD-R (52x32x52x) 4) Yes ... slowly! I have been in the properties for both CDROM and CD-R drives and tried to enable DMA, but every time I restart they both revert to being DMA disabled.

Enabling DMA on CDROM drives ...

I'm trying to rip CDs using Digital Audio Extraction ... ripping info in digital format straight from the CDROM. Problem is that although I have digital audio enabled for the CDROM through the device manage, I'm still only able to rip at about 0.9x realtime. I am now incline to think that it...
