Will the NEC ITK-6DGS work on SV9500

Got a few of the above phones (NEC ITK-6DGS-1) for a small office, to put on the SV9500. Immediately after turning on, they show different screens from the usual DT700/800/900 terminals. It's trying to download something, it fails and reboots. Its menus look different, and the usual default admin password doesn't work on them. They are brand new. Are these standard SIP phones for the NEC 3CX, rather than proprietary SIP for the SV systems? Can they be made to work with SV9500

I am fairly certain the 3cx is supposed to flash the firmware to the version they need? BTW Forerunner now owns the 3cx and its no longer EOL and looks to be getting a linux distro.

Hi CoralTech.
I don't have a 3CX, I have an SV9500. But seems like the phone has standard SIP on it, so it won't work with the SV9500 as it is. I just want to know if I can make it work with the SV9500.

To program a standard SIP phone assuming you have ASYDL, ALIDL and AUACL set up it is easy. ASPAL set station number to TELN, ASITL assign station as DTerm IP and then ALGSL , you can follow S-167 in the feature programming manual.

Hmm. Let me try. Yes, I have plenty of 3rd party SIP phones already working on my system with S-167. Of course the first thing I run into is how do I get into the admin menu of that phone. The admin code is not the same as on the usual DT700/DT800/DT900 phones. Can you point me in the right direction for that?

Yes it seems like it. Question is, do they have a standard SIP firmware I could get from somewhere? With that, they could work on the SV9500. Or would they work as Standard SIP phone on the SV9500 with the current firmware? Or is there just no way to make them work on the SV9500?

Another member here and myself worked on flashing Univerge Blue phones back to NEC SIP. The problem was/is everytime they rebooted they downloaded the Univerge Blue firmware and flashed themselves back. I never had one to work with directly and the other member gave up.

If I were to try it again I would flash the phone off line so it can't flash back. Then run the factory default from IP Phone manager to clear the ADMIN code. Finally look at the config still off line and see if the code that tells it to load the UVB firmware is still in it.

Lastly put it back online and see if it flashes back.
