Does anyone have a VB code routine that I can use to check the status of the default printer before printing a report in Microsoft Access?
thx

this is not exactly what you need but does use a process within it that says what is the default printer and stores that value for later use, to change it back...

What this code does it that it takes a report in access and then prints it to a PDF files, if you have acrobat pdf writer installed.

You can do this by in a command button by using
Code:
Call SaveReportAsPDF(REPORT_NAME, PATH_NAME & ".pdf")

Sorry i've gone of the point a little, but if you break the code in the module, and then step through it does show the default printer, sorry did not have time to modify the code, as i did not write it in the first place, i did not want to break it so to speak...

Create a new module and paste the following

Code:

   Public Const REG_DWORD As Long = 4
