I have a new Windows 2003 Storage Server to which I copied user folders from a Backup Exec tape. I gave everyone full permission on the share and I gave each user “modify” NTFS permissions to their folder. However, If I right click on the properties of the share on the server, it says “read only”. Now people can open and change, save, create, and everything seems fine to them (so I know they don't have "read only" access). I’m just worried that the properties tab says “read only”. Is this a problem?

I am pretty sure this is a known "issue" in XP/2003. Seem to remember reading it somewhere. Basically the read only flag on a share folder is meaningless, erm.... then again, maybe not <g>.

Hopefully they will fix it soon.
