Epson Stylus color 600 won't print (WIN ME) 2

3-yr old Gateway. Windows ME. Printer has worked fine until two days ago. Now, printer will not print but no error msgs. Printer Self-Test OK. Can print thru MS-DOS. Seems like driver problem. Replaced them. Still not
work. All printer lights off except power. (normal).
Epson Spooler appears. All jobs show as "idle". Queued for printing. "x" in "Use Print Manager."

Tried adding new printer with driver from WinME CD. No luck.

Where do I go next?

ok well if it just happened recently, did you make any major changes to your machine like adding new hardware? Sometimes this will trigger a reaction, if not then thats ok. I would try going on the manufacture website as they will have the best drivers for the printer try that and see if that works. Some printers require special software in addition to drives to work, even though those are rare.

try printing from a diff program.....maybe notepad instead of Word

I wish I knew what fixed the problem. Most of my support was remote from the site. But one time, I did go there and tried every conceivable fix.

One, suggested here, was to modify the printer settings before printing. He may have tried that and it might have solved the problem.

But you know users!!
