Is there a difference between the use of me!controlname and me.controlname in VBA code?
 
There is a difference. I pulled this off of a newsgroup thread:

Remember that the exclamation mark (!) is
used to refer to user objects (say controls or user properties) while
the period (.) is used to refer to native ones (color, size, etc).

My (shorter) answer than all these is that in most all cases, you will not notice any difference between using the dot(.) and the bang(!).
