Possible successors to Sidekick (I know we don't want to move, but...)

If you could figure out a way to save Sidekick 98's calendar as a csv file it would be possible. But Sidekick does not appear to support exporting to any format other than its own *.skc files. Mozilla Sunbird will import data from either csv files created by MS Outlook or iCalendar files. On...

Possible successors to Sidekick (I know we don't want to move, but...)

I agree with you, Microsoft Outlook and Palm desktop killed the PIM. The one thing I have found lacking in all the other apps is what you said: custom fields, drag and drop, and the ability to have multiple address books (In SK98 I have eight different ones). I guess there isn't a perfect...

Possible successors to Sidekick (I know we don't want to move, but...)

It was C-Organizer Pro v 3.5, one thing that I did not like was how it displayed contacts in the address books. I found the need to specify which field would be displayed to be a pain. The other thing was (this might have been due to an idiosyncrasy of my system) the custom fields from...

Possible successors to Sidekick (I know we don't want to move, but...)

Does anyone have an opinion of Anytime Organizer ? I tried C-Organizer Pro but I found it to be lacking. I am going to throw out as a suggestion for a useful calendar Mozilla's Sunbird. It is still in its early stages (version 0.3), however I have been using it for a few days and it seems to...

Support for an independant version of SideKick

Essential PIM looks interesting and I will add it to the list of SK replacements. I do have one question though, does it work with a Palm PDA? I did not see anything on the site that addresses that question. Thanks

Support for an independant version of SideKick

Has anyone had time to play with the C-Organizer Pro that was mentioned a couple of posts ago? I did a little exploring; I exported one of my SK98 address books to a *.csv file and imported it into C-Organizer Pro. It went ok, although I had to go into each address entry and specify what fields...

I finally found a decent "contacts aspect" upgrade, C-Organizer

I downloaded and installed the trial C-Organizer and gave it a look. I have not been able to get very deep into the program, but what I have seen doesn't look too bad. It isn't Sidekick (I doubt anyone will every make a PIM as useful), but it does have some good points and it looks to be for me...

Support for an independant version of SideKick

kWkW- if you can't get the install for SK98 and the patch, I have it and can burn you a CD.

Support for an independant version of SideKick

I checked my machine, I looked in C:\Program Files\Starfish\Sidekick 98\Program and I could not find "TSDesktop.exe". I don't have TrueSync installed, so that could be why, or am I looking in the wrong location?

    SK 98 vs SK 99?

Others will probably give you a better answer, but one of the things I noticed with SK99 is that it does not have the functionality as SK98, it is sort of a Sidekick lite compared to the other versions. Check out this site: http://siderealb0x.250free.com/index.html Check out the Sidekick...

Support for an independant version of SideKick

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was going to speak to a programmer that I know about Sidekick’s year 2006 problem. We came up with two different possibilities; one would be to patch the existing SK98 and the other is that my friend would look at SK98, see what it does, and write an...

Support for an independant version of SideKick

I think I mentioned in a prior posting that I believe the date problem with SK98 is being caused by something as simple as a dll. I am not a programmer, but I have worked them enough to know if it is this, a fix would be something simple that could be done in an hour or two. The key is finding...

Support for an independant version of SideKick

The key to resurrecting SK98 is the source code. I have been told by my business partner (the programming half of our consulting organization) that if he had the source, he could fix it with out any problem. But Starfish does not exist any longer and Motorola does not seem to care; where does...
