Becky is right. You can pass the argument on a dos command line or as part of the shortcut. In the application you need to query Command() to read the value passed in. Opinions please
We went with Business Objects as it integrates well with SQL Server among other database/olap servers. Also, we can use our existing skills in VBA and ASP in implementing it. Another company to look at is SAS. (www.sas.com)- zahiduk
