(a) Make sure guest account is enabled on the host machine.
(b) ensure that the host machine doesn't have the same username as the one that you are trying to log on as (as this will cause it to try and resolve the username/pass as oppose to commingin through the guest account!)
My experiance has shown both versions of XP to be more prone to reacting to hardware issues that other OS's. I would either say this was one of the many XP bugs (my personal feeling is that XP is the new Win Me.. stick to 2k I say...), or the result of it interacting with some itermitant...
AHh - the wonderful net use command. Fantastic for dos level printing across a network....
Appropriate Syntax is as follows:
net use Lpt2 \\pcname\printer
For eg, in my office for dos printing I ran a script as follows:
net use lpt3 \\megafs\kyoceraf

Mate, Don't bother. Zone alarms not any good anyway as the virus uses your own MAPI spooler, and you've probably infected so many people I'd hide under a rock instead of admitting to it. Any sort of virus protection detects and repairs the attachments though, so most people should be safe!
Magistar is a virus which automatically emails out random office doc's to the general public, courtesy of your address book. Its also smart enough to send them to some email addresses that it see's in other emails/web pages. Pretty scare stuff eh?

Hmmm - Hybris is the name of the virus which does that (although there are others..). It only normally kicks in after 30 days of infection, so it may well be a conicidence...
Sounds like its a PS2 issue (I'm assusming that both your keyboard and mouse are PS2). I'd try plugging in both a PS2 keyboard and/or mouse to force the system to find new drivers. Once this has happened you should be able to get in fine to delete the old drivers to start again. if you don't...
