    SOLVED!!!!! you must goto Internet Explorer, goto Tools --> Internet Options. Click on the Connections Tab, click on Lan Settings, uncheck Automatically Detect Settings. This was not letting me use Localhost, because it was searching the ISP for localhost. -haval

    Hello, you are not gonna believe this: 1. I installed IIS 5 on WinXP Pro machine 2. http://localhost DOES not work /shrug 3. Check hosts file, looks fine (127.0.0.1 localhost) 4. http://127.0.0.1 DOES not work as well :( 5. i did ipconfig /flushdns, thinking somehting was wrong with my dns...
