i have 2 PCs running win 98SE and Win XP Home respectively.
i have ran the network wizard in sequence but still dun see both of them in network neighborhood and my network places.
am i missing out on something?
wondering if my running the network connection wizard 3-4 times over and over would...
well i replugged everything
checked i put back the battery correctly
checked the jumper was where it should be
the PS switch was on
even confirmed the switch was working with a multimeter
still no power up....
more ideas?
or the mainboard has already been fried somehow?

might have knocked something else off its seat
i actually tried re-plugging the ethernet card (which was blocking the CMOS Batt). but the pc did not respond at all when i press the power button.
does anyone know how i can get my pc to power on.
i powered off the pc previously to check whether my CMOS batt was flat,
when i put that same batt back, the pc refuse to power on at all.
i've searched the forum but cant seem to find a similar problem... advice?

do u run norton antivirus on your computers?
the microsoft knowledge base says that it could be caused by norton pop3 scanning. try disabling that then receive mail.

all it took was to go to control panel and use add/remove program to repair internet explorer 6

if you are on office 97, you can also try microsoft photo editor. its a small separate program on its own which you can access from the program menu. if you dont have it on the c drive. you can get it from the office97 CD
