The first errror (kythri)sounds like a security issue.
If you don't specify a username and password for the SQL database then it will try and use the default SQL one.
Try putting the username and password for the SQL db under the remote tab on the client setup.
The second one sounds more like...
Trying using a product called nsrmgr. (Search in Google for it)
It provides the backup through put, the Save and completion time PER CLIENT and whole bunch of other stuff.
Other wise you could check the completion notice.
It will say something like
Client: C:\ level=full, 3852 MB 00:48:48...
This means that the groups is still running.
Click on manange groups. You should see your group, with a yellow clock symbol. Right click on it and select stop.
This will stop your backup.
You might want to look at WHY the backup isn't completing.
Too much data, slow network, slow tape units...
Have you increased your "client retries" parameter?
Manage Groups -> Right click on group -> Edit -> Increase "Client retries"
(On a windows platform, can't remember how to do it through Unix gui)
Sorry, if you read further down it explains it better.
After you have created the monday group.
Create a client "data" and put it in the Monday pool
Create a client "data" and put it in the Tuesday pool.
etc.
Make sense?
I think I speak for everyone here when I say that it is a somwhat difficult program to use. It requires A LOT of pre-planning and making sure that you completely understand Legato before you strart implementing it. Invest in a Legato consultant before doing anything with it. (Doesn't have to be...
Create a pool for every day of the week.
Create a schedule for every day of the week
Create a client for each day of the week and place it in that daypool.
Set each daypool to use dayschedule
So...
Create Schedule:
MondaySchedule (Incremental on Monday, skip all other days)
TuesdaySchedule...
You are right, it shouldn't have worked! Done this a number of times and it doesn't always work.
Generally, I follow this process.
Install OS with same name and IP address etc.
Install SP.
Intall Legato.
Recover.
reboot.
fixed.
I guess there is probably about 10 extra minutes in my way but if...
Personally, I wouldn't worry to much with the diffrent levels. Apart from the fact that they get way too confusing too quickly (like legato needs to have more confusing options in it!). It just gets messy.
Leave at full and incr, alot more logical and easier to maintain.
In regards to the issues...
Firstly, what type of device hardware are you using? If it is an LTO drive then try this
Configuring the LTO tape drives.
1) SOLARIS Setup:
=================
On Solaris the default tape drive driver is st and it provides the interface to
various SCSI drives which may or may not be Sun...
Hey everyone,
I know it has been a long time since I was on this forum!
I am still have some of that Legato for dummys I was writing and it looks like I may have to write it all up for my current position. If I do, I will pass it on. Please don't hassle me over it, it will be ready when it is...
Either your mmvolume_6 database is courrupt or the tape is cactus. Try removing that tape (001595 ) and restarting. Otherwise rename the mmvolume_6 folder to mmvolume_6old and seeing if you are still getting the DrWatson. If you are not then you will need to restore the media database useing...
Yes, but under the GUI it will only let you set it to a min of 5 secs and 10 secs. The Reg hack lets you set it to a lower setting. Hence the post.
enjoy.
