about the chart....
Just look for your CPU. O is no jumper, -- means it should be jumpered. Pay close attention to the jumper numbers on the motherboard, they are in reverse order (maybe I should reverse the chart)...
Thanks guys for solving the great speaker mystery. I did get the beeps...
Belgarrath,
So you don't have pin#9 missing? My power light is working from 11 and 13.
I'm going to try the BIOS flash for 80 pin cable connection tonight. I didn't pull the Mobo last night because my wife needed to use it.......hopefully tonight.
I love it! This board is featured on the Computer Geeks website as linked to earlier in the thread, with this description:

CD-ROM Drive to Install Drivers...
Robb,
First, those documents weren't there two weeks ago. They STILL don't make up for a crappy manual that excludes CPU settings for 1/2 of the dual voltage CPU's. Also, try downloading and reading one of 'em (just for giggles).
Drivers can't help you if you can't even set up your case and...
Oh, Another thing:
Make sure to reinstall your operating system using a freshly reformatted HDD! This will allow Windows Plug n'Pray in the OS to pick the correct drivers for the IDE/Floppy devices! You can THEN install the updated VIA 4n1 drivers.
If you try it using an HD from another...
The J2 block isn't laid out like you would think it is! The little arrow at the bottom right is actually pointing to pin #2instead of pin#1. This is the layout:

Sorry, guys!
I'm out of town, and this stupid public library does not allow you to check your e-mail!
I'll be back in on Friday with a response and any other help.

I have a UMAX Astra 2000U that the motor hangs up on. I will not move the scanner pickup back and forth (it just hums loudly). It is a Mitsumi M35SP-7 Stepping Motor. is there anybody who knows how to get a replacement motor?
Thanks,
Brumbie
Happy Ending---
We were able to fish out the last half of the CD, and the drive works fine! I'll probably be doing CD hub exams for cracks from now on before I put them in there! LOL
You may want to try a new floppy cable. If you had to bend it any to get the 3.5 and 5.25's to work together, a wire in the cable could be broken, causing it to only work for 360K. Also, check to see if there are any jumpers missing on the drive. You might have dropped one.
Ok, now I don't feel so bad...
My co-workers said it was the gangsta rap....
Scares the crap out of you, and unfourtunately, I can only recover half of the CD! Can you take these things apart?:-I
