Yes - I agree. I guess their arrogance tells them that they simply don't need to. I'm constantly amazed at the level of attention they put into the Mac platform - and, apparently, the Mac version of MS Office is even better than the Windows one. Go figure.
Still, I guess, after Windows, the Mac...
*grin* Yeah - I wondered about that!
I tried using Firefox but there is a Javascript link that just doesn't respond at the "join webcast now" stage.
Even Firefox under Win98 didn't respond to that link. I then fired up IE and that link worked. Funny thing was that the visual part of the...
Hey guys,
I've just subscribed to some Microsoft webcasts which apparently use LiveMeeting.
Turns out that they start around 4:00am in my local time zone so I'd like to view them from home is possible (I'd rather not come in to work _that_ early *grin*).
Does anyone know of a way I can view a...
Hmmm - no - I'll have a look at that tonight - thanks!
Yeah - exactly the same hardware used to work completely fine in terms of both drivers loading and sound quality in Redhat9....
Thanks again.

I've just migrated from Redhat9 to MDk10 Official. ALSA doesn't seem to be working properly with my SB Live 5.1 - I get the above error on boot.
Once booted though, I can log in as root, run through alsaconf and it starts ok and works fine after that (apart from XMMS sounding crap with the ALSA...
Personal experience:
My home PC - GEForce2 MX200. Redhat 9 + NVidia drivers work excellently.
A friends PC I built for him - ATI Radeon 9200SE. Redhat 9 + ATI drivers I couldn't get working easily. I installed Mandrake 10 for him and it automatically put the ATI drivers (including 3d...
TexExpat, that sounds like it could be a problem with time-stamping and replication.
With the profiles disappearing, could it be a problem with having the profile share with 'Offline caching' available?
Have a look in your event log - you might see an error warning about disabling 'offline...
Hey guys!
If you choose the 'more options' at the beginning of the install and type 'expert', you'll get the option to select which CD's you have available. CD4 is listed there by default, so you can deselect it and then you don't get prompted for it at all.

Hmmm - not sure as I haven't done that. However, I would start looking in HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer to start with - I'll bet it's in there somewhere.
:-)

Greetings,
Delete key "^SetupICWDesktop" value from "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce"
Add Key HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard\Completed=DWORD:0x1
That should do the trick!

Greetings,
I am planning the migration of our datastore from Access to SQL. I have been asked if we can test it and also what are the 'backout' procedures.
I am assuming that, if I take a copy of the access database and backup each server's DSN first, then I should be able to rollback if...
Hello!
I, like you, spent an age attempting to find a 'howto' kind of thing on this.
The closest I could find was the pdf downloadable from citrix under the title 'CTX677542'. THat PDF has a bunch of different things in it - one of them is 'Migrating Server Farms and the Data Store' which...
apm=power_off
That's the bit you need to add to the kernel boot parameters. Once you've started off that, a shutdown should actually power the machine off.

Hello Jisoo22,
I had this same issue under Redhat9 when I recently upgraded my mobo.
You add a command onto the kernel boot line and it starts working fine. Problem is that I cannot remember what that line is. I will endeavour to check this and post a reply tonight from home for you.

Thanks for that information Mr Engineer!
I'm not sure about the legacy apps on W2K3 - I guess we could try that in the lab too. I was just advised by other technical guys here that they didn't work on Windows XP - not sure why - it could have been that it didn't work when they installed it and...
